Chemical Cautery

Chemical cautery is used for chemical destruction of a variety of benign conditions like genital warts, molluscum contagiosum, ingrown toe nail, etc. The chemicals used are- TCA (trichloroacetic acetic acid), phenol and podophyllin. When used judiciously and with expertise, these cause minimal side effects.
